Roland Folse Professor of Surgical Education Emeritus at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He is a measurement specialist who has focused on the measurement of operative performance since 2000. His efforts are directed toward making it easy for: 1) surgeons to translate observations of operative performances into meaningful operative performance metrics immediately after observing the performance and 2) surgeons and surgeons-in-training to use these metrics to improve subsequent performance. He also specializes in the measurement of clinical decision-making.
